Ever since I can remember, I loved being around you and my three sisters. I always feel the warmth of love and comfort from you, as if I’m your youngest. My mom narrates the story of how I create a mess and run into your home, and how you and my three sisters feed me dinner from your own plates. Not only that, she never forgets to remind me on how I demanded PB akka to walk me to school on the very morning she landed in India. Looking back at my childhood self, I feel second-hand embarrassment for my audacity. I’ve jumped at every opportunity to visit your place. Maybe I just wanna see your face with a bright smile as you open the door. You and mom are each other’s confidants. How lucky should I be to have another home far away from home? You fill my mother’s absence in this country.

In these two years, I’ve learnt to know your arrival at GP akka’s home from the change in taste of the packed food that she brings to my place. And today, you sent me the vendakkai kuzhambu, payasam, and rice!!!!, because you know me well :) My lazy ass would not cook rice and you cared enough to make my life as easy as it could possibly be.
